Our story

How we started

Viverda was built around a simple observation: buyers in Africa could not rely on consistent, clean iceberg and lettuce varieties week to week. Seasonal gaps, long supply chains, price fluctuation and field contamination meant quality and availability changed with the weather.

Our answer is a fully sealed indoor hydroponic farm at Ikorodu, with iceberg lettuce as the lead crop and Lollo Verde, Romaine Lettuce and Oak Lettuce supporting the range. The system is designed for constant availability, 365 days a year.

What we hold to

• Consistency. A uniform product every week rather than occasional excellence. Predictable specification allows buyers to standardise menus, pack counts and costings.
• Food safety first. Documented procedures, applied and recorded. No pesticide, insecticide or fungicide is used at any stage, and the claim is supported by production records and residue analysis rather than assertion.
• Resource care. A closed water loop, measured inputs and no discharge to ground. Producing adjacent to the market served also reduces transport distance substantially against imported alternatives.
• Local employment. Permanent staff trained on site in controlled-environment production, a skill set with limited availability in the local labour market.
